Over our open day recently (28th June 2024) Tim and I were asked how Devtank got started. Both of us ended telling the story multiple times that day.
So, just so it’s written down, I’ll put it here.
Truth is, Tim and I are cousins who ended up randomly living round Derby. I had got back into caving and dragged him into it. When caving, there is a lot of sitting around in the dark (often wet and cold) waiting to go up or down a rope or something. So we got talking and found we had complimentary skills. I dragged him into open source and Linux too as well as caves. Tim dragged me out of safe employment and into founding with him something that became Devtank. “Development Tank” instead of “Think tank”, but made internet search friendly. Add lots of work and a decade!
