Tim Telford
Introduction:
Co-founder of Devtank established in 2014. Tim’s passion and motivation to bring disruptive test and measurement products to the market has been a driving force. Tim initially took up the position of technical director and was directly responsible for a number of Devtank’s early hardware developments including the HILTOP platform. In 2023 Tim was appointed as CEO following board level changes as a result of rapid growth.
Career History:
After graduating with a 1st Class Honours degree at the University of Leicester, Tim went onto to join Rolls Royce Aerospace in Derby for the first five years of his career and specialised in test and measurement solutions for electronic ground support and telemetry teams.
Tim went on to work for Newtons4th Ltd developing high performance power analysers before embarking on a series of freelance electronic design roles including Rolls Royce Nuclear.
Over the last 10 years, Tim has been instrumental in many high profile product solutions including Electric Vehicle chargers, both AC and Bi-directional Vehicle 2 Grid (V2G) technology.
Tim is an active Board member for OpenUK covering strategic decision making around Open Hardware at Government level and volunteers as a School Governor locally
Achievements & Awards:
In 2021 at the COP26 Sustainability Conference, Glasgow, Tim scooped an award for the HILTOP platform as best “Open Hardware”. Tim also complete the nationwide “Help2Grow” management course in recent years.

Introduction:
Co-founder and technical expert. Joe’s broad experience in Linux, applications, embedded and hardware brings enormous benefits to the team. Joe is responsible for the technical delivery of all projects and ensuring the team work to rigorous standards and thoroughly test everything produced. Joe is an expert in source file management and licensing to ensure compliance on customer projects.
Career History:
Joe spent nearly 12 years in the console and PC game industry for companies including Criteon Software (RenderWare) and Eurocom. He worked in a number of areas from graphics and animation engines to art and animation tools, finally file systems and databases. After the game industry he spent a number of years as a embedded GNU/Linux consultant including CodeThink before Devtank. Joe comes from a multiple platform background, partly on older game consoles, but also having grown up on RISC OS (Acorn’s desktop ARM OS), before moving to Windows for work then Linux for fun and finally work. Joe has worked on GNU/Linux since 2012, often on ARM. Having started out bedroom programming, Joe is a strong believer that everyone should have the option of source code and learning how things work
Achievements & Awards:
Joe has a number of “drive by” commits in public projects including the Linux Kernel itself. Joe has also joined round table discussions on the software skills gap at parliament and interviewed on podcasts

Introduction:
Martin is a dedicated team player and visionary, leading himself and colleagues/staff to success. His long sucessful career has earned him a wealth of knowledge and skills within engineering and business development, and he is still dedicating his time to developing his knowledge further whilst helping others in business and career development.
Career History:
Martin began his career as an apprentice with British Coal. The 14 years Martin worked in mining, as an Electrical Engineer, took him from Student Apprentice through to Chartered Engineer.
In 1994 Martin took up the position of Technical Director at the family engineering business, Lindhurst Engineering (based in Sutton in Ashfield), becoming Managing Director in 1999, a position he still holds. Lindhurst Engineering has a reputation for providing innovative engineering support to a range of industries, providing bespoke solutions to customers’ challenges.
Martin has held or currently holds several Non-Executive Directorships and positions as Chair in limited companies, LEP sub-boards and organisations working in the field of economic development. He is an Alumni Fellow of Nottingham Trent University and a Help To Grow Mentor for both Nottingham Trent University and the University of Derby.
Achievements & Awards:
In 2016 Martin was awarded an MBE for services to Business & Innovation and now presents and comments regularly on innovation, leadership, skills and people development at Universities and trade organisations. In the same year, he won the SEMTA (Science, Engineering, Manufacturing Technologies Alliance) national skills champion for the year. In 2020 Martin made the Top 100 list in The Manufacturer magazine.
2024 saw Martin awarded an OBE for Services to Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire During the COVID-19 Pandemic, in the same year he received an Outstanding Alumni Fellow award from Nottingham Trent University

Introduction:
Cameron Joined Devtank in 2019. When interviewed he showed his passion for building, manufacturing and tinkering with all things mechanical. His favourite quote is “Measure twice and cut once”.
Career History:
Cameron has recently taken on the role of Operations Manager following the completion of a 5 year Manufacturing Engineering Degree Apprenticeship course through the University of Derby.
Achievements & Awards:
In 2022, Cameron was awarded the Apprentice of the Year at the East Midlands Chamber Business Awards.
anthony

Introduction:
Joining the team in 2022, Anthony was brought on board to build Devtank’s marketing department. He has been responsible for expanding their product range into their own brands, creating social media accounts, websites, and general marketing materials. Being keen to expand his skills and knowledge, Anthony has recently been aiding the team with product design / artwork, software development and design, and most recently business development and sales. After completing his Digital Marketing Apprenticeship through EMA Training, he was given the title of Marketing Champion.
Career History:
Anthony has a huge passion for music, playing and teaching himself the guitar over the last 15 years, has studied music at both GCSE and higher BTEC levels, whilst also performing and writing within a mixture of bands. Having worked within retail, manufacturing, and on production lines within different industries, Anthony has been able to bring this knowledge into his role at Devtank.
His passion for music opened his pathway into marketing which eventually lead him to help set up his dad’s business, Mondo’s Cycle Repairs. Through this he taught himself website development, social media content creation, Google and Social Media Ads, and Google Analytics.
Achievements & Awards:
In 2022, just after joining Devtank, Anthony made the Top 100 list in The Manufacturer Magazine. Alongside his apprenticeship, He also achieved the Google Analytics Certification via the official Google online course. In 2023, Anthony was selected as a Apprentice Of The Year Finalist at the East Midlands Chamber Business Awards.
