Devtank are exceptionally proud to be award finalists in a number of categories for two chambers this year and for one we’ve already had a visit from the award sponsor and were proud to showcase everything to do with our business and people.
East Midlands Chamber awards for Derbyshire
This year we entered the Innovation of the Year and the Digital Transformation categories because we have a strong story to tell on the work we’ve done internally with our own digital transformation which has radically improved our service desk for our customers as well as helping with the all important things we need from systems (ERP for invoicing, stock control, renewals etc). We’ve also made strong improvements to our OpenSmartMonitors hence the innovation category; we’ve used all of our own internal hardware and software experience to create a reliable plug and play monitor for manufacturers to easily install to help with their goals (preventive maintenance, energy savings, environmental monitoring, compliance and wellbeing to name a few of the popular areas for OpenSmartMonitor).
Tim learnt of our finalists positions for both categories at the recent Presidents Dinner at a stunning venue in Nottingham where he got to be chef for the evening at the table he was on. We’ve had great feedback on his carving skills!
East Staffordshire & South Derbyshire Chamber awards
There were three categories that we entered for this chamber including:
- Best use of Technology / Innovation
- Manufacturer of the Year
- Rising Star
Focussing on the implementation of our ERP system to improve a range of business activities internally and most importantly externally; to make it easier for our customers to access our service desk with a really user friendly ticket system. JCB who are the category sponsors have already visited the site to assess how our use of technology has made a marked improvement for the business, it was a real pleasure to show them how our new way of working has been a success so far and the plans we have for more system implementation over the coming months.
As Devtank are manufacturers ourselves of both the OpenSmartMonitor products and the HILTOP systems we understand the pains that manufacturers face and so are driven to support them with our solutions. We’re proud of the high quality products that we produce which are regularly peer reviewed if hardware and because we are active members within the open source community our software is also peer reviewed. We know that our products are reliable and durable as we’re big advocates of being able to easily fix things so they can continue to be used hence our application to this award category.
For the Rising Star we nominated Marcus who started with us as a Software Development Apprentice and has had such a successful journey he is now our Lead Support Engineer. He has been instrumental in our digital transformation over the past months where Marcus has not only shaped but actively developed and formed our new customer support system. We couldn’t be more delighted to see Marcus shortlisted for this award as he is a true Devtanker.
From these awards we have been shortlisted as finalists for the Rising Star and Best use of Technology / Innovation category.
We’ve got everything crossed to bring a trophy or two back to Devtank’s HQ from these awards but similarly we are proud to have been nominated as finalists so far.
