Devtank’s Digital Digest – November 2025

Welcome to the first edition of the Devtank newsletter we’ve named our ‘Digital Digest’ primarily as we’re sharing it digitally but also because we’re a tech company with a company name that begins with D – everyone loves to alliteration!

JCB Judged Award Win

We’re over the moon to have won an independently judged award; we won the “Best use of Innovation and Technology” judged by JCB from the East Staffordshire and South Derbyshire Awards this month.

Over the last year, we have been setting up and finessing our Odoo ERP system to work to our requirements, whilst adding much-needed automation for our business operations and processes. So far, this has improved our customer onboarding, renewals, access to help desk and invoicing process making it slicker for the people who matter most – our customers. As a tech company having the very best digitalisation in place to ensure everything from our procurement for production through to our ticketing management for client questions and queries is well handled has been a real priority. JCB reviewed the project plan, the process improvements and the outcomes of our digital transformation and deemed what we had achieved as being the best use of technology which was music to our ears.

Our support engineer, Marcus, who started his career with us as software apprentice and is now our service manager got commended for the “Rising Star” Award which was wonderful to see as he’s a great Devtanker!

Taking off…

Devtank has got our rocket ready and we’re off to space. Not physically but we have been accepted into the UK Space Agency Accelerator Shuttle Programme after a competitive application process. We’ve been accepted in from evidence of our previous work (providing production PCB test solutions to the OneWeb Space programme for Teledyne) and also for the skill-set and solutions we have for hardware and software development, plus automation and testing capabilities available here at Devtank.

It’s an exciting space to be in and we’re looking forward to working on projects in this sector in 2026.

Improving our digital tools for customers

As mentioned in our award entry section of the newsletter this time last year Devtank embarked on a project to transform our business digitally with one goal in mind – to make it easier for customers to work with us.

That’s everything from placing tickets on the service desk, accessing your dashboards or databases, providing ways to find information from us more easily and to communicate with us better.

Our next step is to consolidate our planning and project management processes within our new system which again will be designed around better servicing our customers as they are all VIPs!

As a digital company we’re committed to having the best type of automation and systems in place to service our customers. So any feedback if you’ve seen improvements (or not!) would be most welcome.

Passing Cyber Essentials

Here at Devtank we’ve always taken system and data security VERY seriously. Joe, our CTO, understands security but has still completed an intensive review of our IT systems and processes to ensure we sailed through the Cyber Essentials process smoothly.

We’re pleased to now wave our newly acquired Cyber Essentials flag.
